The market opened on a negative note but soon moved to positive territory. Banking stock fell whereas power stocks rose. Market breadth was weak. The market surged in afternoon trade on reports of higher advance tax payment by top corporates and positive opening of European markets. S&P CNX Nifty closed at 4533.00 up by 29.90 points.
